On Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni held a closed-door meeting with a seven-member team of the MK Movement led by Gen.Muhoozi Kainerugaba at State House, Entebbe.
This is the first time President Museveni has met the MK Movement team on record to discuss their activities.
“I thank President Kaguta Museveni for meeting members of the Central Committee of the MK Movement yesterday. We discussed for most of the afternoon about patriotism, pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, strategic security, and democracy,” Gen.MK said.
During the meeting, Gen.Muhoozi also briefed the head of State about his recent visit to Kigali, and around the country and also informed him about the progress of the MK Movement.
MP David Kabanda, the Deputy Spokesperson of the MK Movement, said they discussed a wide range of issues regarding their activities and how they can be successfully implemented.
“Chairman of the MK Movement, Mka.Kainerugaba, led the MK Movement Central Committee (CC) members on Wednesday at a meeting with President Museveni in Statehouse Entebbe,” Kabanda said.
According to Kabanda, President Museveni thanked the MK Movement for its efforts towards unity, the cohesion of the country, and its commitment to serve Uganda.
“He thanked Gen. MK for mobilizing Ugandans against corruption and ensuring service delivery. He preached patriotism, pan-Africanism, democracy, unity, and socio-economic transformation as the only medicine for Uganda,” he said.
