Members of Parliament from Lango have vowed to maintain an eagle-like grip on the government and specifically President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni until Akii Bua Memorial Stadium is fully built.
This was announced by the Chairperson of Lango Parliamentary Group, Hon. Judith Alyek, also Kole district Woman Member of Parliament, on Sunday, March 24th, during the triumphant welcome of Lango Province players at the Mayor’s Garden in Lira City.
The event was meant to honor Lango Province after being crowned the 2024 Champion of FUFA Drum tournament following the Saturday match in which they trounced Busoga Province 2:1.

MP Alyek said that, as Lango Parliamentary, they will continue engaging the government to ensure that Akii Bua stadium is built, adding that the government should expedite the process to ensure that the Egyptian contractor kicks off the construction works.
“As LPG, we were able to contribute over four million shillings to Lango Province, but we will organize a special dinner with the players to honor their contribution,” said MP Alyek.
MP Alyek tasked the Lango Province leadership to defend the title in the coming edition saying they will guarantee enormous support for the team.
