The Ugandan High Commissioner to Canada, Ambassador Joy Ruth Aceng, has embarked on a campaign to drum up support for the forthcoming 7th edition of the annual Uganda-Canada international convention in Ottawa.
Amb. Aceng said the preparation for the international event is taking shape day by day, and it aims to boost trade and investment for Uganda.
According to Amb. Aceng, the 2024 edition will be held at the Ottawa Marriot Hotel in Canada from July 12th–14th.
She adds that the registration process for participants willing to attend the event is ongoing.
The ambassador noted that this year’s annual convention will focus more on investment promotions by attracting more potential investors in Uganda as well as capturing major global markets in Canada.
Amb. Aceng said the convention being organized under the strict campaign “Uganda is Open for Business” also aims to popularize available trade opportunities in tourism, entertainment, investment, and culture, among others.
According to her, the event will also encourage the Buy Uganda, Promote Uganda investment campaign that was introduced by President Museveni some years ago.
In 2023, the NRM Canada chapter held a similar gathering and equally discussed extensively strategies to spur trade, investments and creating business opportunities for Uganda in the global spaces.
The convention is in line with the government’s vision to attract credible investments and grab global markets for goods and services produced in Uganda.
Last year’s Uganda-Canada convention was held on July 1st–2nd, 2023, in Ottawa.
