For about two weeks now, Ambassador Ogwang Okul, the head of the Pala-Ocol clan in Lango, has remained in the news across all major media channels. (in video clip below, Ambassador Awitong Dickson Ogwang Okul was being received by a group of jubilating elders)
On Saturday, Amb. Ogwang, the former Deputy Head of Mission in Washington, DC, for many years, and the Current Head of Chancery at the Embassy of Uganda in Khartoum, Sudan made a triumphant entry into Kole District, where he was welcomed by hundreds of elders.
The elders who trekked from major corners of Kole District to Baramindyang (his home) conducted a wide range of religious rituals, including praying for him, and called for more ancestral blessings upon Amb. Ogwang’s current journey as Lango moves towards electing the new Paramount Chief.
Amb.Ogwang Okul, a trained international lawyer, diplomat, and peace and conflict resolution expert, welcomed the elders move to add their blessings to what His Highness Yosam Odur recently passed on him.
He assured of effective deliveries of steady cultural leadership that can deliver the people of Lango by promoting the rightful cultural values.
In the latest development, a large number of clan chiefs who had previously been loyal to Dr. Okune’s administration have clandestinely been meeting Amb. Ogwang Okul in a bid to cement their support and allegiance to the recently announced declaration by H.H. Odur to officially kick-start the electoral process for a new Paramount Chief.
Stay tuned for shocking details of this meeting.
