In a letter dated June 6, 2024, and signed by the Institutional Prime Minister Patrick Ajal to the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, H.H. Odur informed the government of his decision to give succession mantles and blessings to Amb Ogwang to the government pending elective affirmative processes.
He emphasized that the processes are being conducted in strict adherence to the LCF Constitution 2017, in accordance with the Constitution of Uganda 1995, and the Institution of Traditional or Cultural Leaders Act 2011.
The decision stemmed from the June 3rd pronouncement by H.H. Odur, when he handed the succession mantle and blessings to Amb. Ogwang Okul, the leader of the Pala-Ocol clan, during a party held at the Te-Boke-based palace in Apac district.
Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, Betty Amongi, has yet to respond to H.H. Odur’s letter notifying the government about the succession plans.
While responding to the pronouncement, Amb. Ogwang last week welcomed the decision and subsequently revealed his strategic plans to turn Odur’s blessing into reality.
