GLAMOROUS: Former Miss Lango Community in North America Says, “YES, I DO”

Date:

God said in Genesis 2:24, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh.”

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow,” God said in the book of Ecclesiastes 4:9–12.

This was exactly what Evelyn, the former Miss Lango Community in North America, and Dr. Hurry successfully and charmingly did on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, in the fulfillment of God’s admiration for man and woman.

In her own words, the former beauty pageant queen surrendered her body to Dr. Hurry and said, “Yes, I do,” prompting the American citizen to install a golden-made wedding ring in her fourth finger on the left hand as a confirmation of his permanent love during a fascinating event held in a Lira City suburb near the proposed site for the new airport.

“I will love you until death do us apart, Yes, I do. I give you this ring to attest my love for you forever,” with their faces clad in jovial moods, the two confessed while exchanging wedding vows.

The event held at Brownstone Recreation Center, Anai Village, Lira City West Division attracted hundreds of relatives and friends of the former Lango Cultural Ambassador in the United States and was graced by Bishop Emeritus, Rev. Alfred Acur Okodi.

In a short speech after tying the knot, she attributed her marriage and success to God and cautioned young ladies to remain descent if they were to achieve in life.

“I was a teacher at Ambalal Primary School before I went to America. When I turned to God, all doors opened for me. It’s all been God for us, and I honor him,” said Evelyn.

Rev. George Ario, an Anglican priest at St. Peter’s Church Adyel, said marriage is from God and that Evaline and Dr. Hurry are following what is in the Bible.

He prayed for the couple for more blessings from God and urged young people to encourage the right institution of marriage.

Former Lira Municipality Mayor, Mike Ogwang Veve, also attended the event. He is among those contending for the Lira City mayoral seat in 2026.

Local musicians, including Romeo Odong and Kiddy Face, among others, colored the event and entertained guests.

An eyewitness said all clans of eats and drinks were in plenty during the event.
