Police in Lira City have in their custody some eight people suspected of having murdered a 23-year-old man on Saturday, April 8th.
SP Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson, identified the deceased as Baptista Odongo, a resident of Starch Factory “B” cell, Tesobar, Lira City West Division.
Okema said the deceased was reported to have been waylaid and attacked by a group of people while returning from a drinking joint at Capital Pub within the same area.
He has identified the suspects as Anthony Okello alias Engato, Kasim Oven, Roman Odongo, Emmanuel Kent, Ephraim Okurut, Gerald Akwam, and Babra Apio.

Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the arrest of Atin Opono. on Sunday to aid more investigation into the murder.
Vincent Otaka, chairperson in-charge of security in the eight cells within Tesobar, condemned the incident.
He says they will soon conduct operations to weed out suspected criminals from the area.
