Kwania is among the 16 districts across the country that are expected to receive pieces of road construction equipment from the government.
This was confirmed on Thursday, February 22, 2024 by the Ministry of Works Permanent Secretary, Bageya Waiswa during an exclusive meeting with Kwania County MP Tony Ayo (NRM) together with other legislators from Kitagwenda, and Kalaki districts.
The MPs according to MP Ayo were making a follow up to ascertain why the government has delayed delivering the equipment to their respective districts.
PS Bageya said the equipment including graders, wheel loaders among others have been procured by the government and will be delivered to the benefiting districts in March 2024.
He adds that the procured equipment are still with the suppliers, noting that the remaining equipment including tippers and rollers shall be procured in the new financial year.
MP Ayo applauded the government for prioritizing Kwania among the benefiting districts saying this will effectively enable them to deal with the appalling road status in the area.
