Lamwo District LCV Boss Remanded over Alleged Fraud

Date:

The Lamwo District LCV Chairperson, Sisto Oyet Ocen, has been sent to Luzira government prison after he was charged with obtaining both goods and money by false pretense, conspiracy to commit a felony, and conspiracy to defraud.

On Monday, Oyet appeared before the Chief Magistrates Court, Lamwo, and was remanded until July 18, 2024.

“The accused and Obalim Richard Omoo, the chairperson LCIII of Padibe Town Council, who is still at large with others, between the months of April and May 2024 in Lamwo District, conspired to defraud the government of three vehicles: the UG 0445M Toyota Hilux Pickup white, the numberless Toyota Hilux white, and the numberless Land Cruiser white, the property of Lamwo District Local Government, purporting that they were taking them for repair but instead sold them to a businessman,” said Mariam Natasha, the Spokesperson of the State House Anti-Corruption unit.
