Local leaders across the country have called for strict tolerance and massive concentration in their various Christmas and New Year’s messages.
In Lango, Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, Hon. Betty Amongi, also the wife of UPC Party President Jimmy Akena Obote, urged residents to adhere to maximum tolerance for one another as they celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
In her message, Minister Amongi called for mass concentration to create wealth in a bid to eradicate household poverty.

Regarding pending programmes in Lango and other parts of the country, GCW Obua called for patience among Ugandans, saying the government will effectively deliver most presidential pledges in the coming financial years.
Hon.Judith Alyek Odongo, the Woman Member of Parliament of Kole District, said whereas the year 2023 has been quite challenging to many people, as the representatives of Lango in the National Assembly, they have on record lobbied for government interventions to cause development in the region.

MP Alyek, who is also the Chairperson of the Lango Parliamentary Group urged the people of Lango to continuously embrace government programmes, including the parish development model, to spur wealth creation in their various households.
She maintained that as LPG, they will continue to lobby the government to implement various development initiatives that can empower the people of Lango, including the construction of Akii Bua Memorial Stadium.
Hon. Dorcus Acen, the Alebtong District Woman MP (NRM) congratulated her constituents upon successful achievements registered in the year 2023, and noted that in the coming year, she will largely support larger scale agriculture in the area so as to empower local to create wealth.
MP Acen who delivered several tonnes of maize seeds to her constituents said commercial farming is the only way through which local residents can eradicate poverty.
She thanked President Yoweri Museveni for successfully delivering variuos government programs which she said have empowered local people across the country.
Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, Mathia Kasaija, called for more prosperity in the coming financial years.
