Security in Kole district have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his brother over a bunch of Matooke.
The suspect identified as Tony Akak, 35 a resident of Alengobir village, Lela Parish is alleged to have punched his brother identified as Moses Ojok to death instantly on Tuesday morning after they had picked up a quarrel over a bunch.
Kole Resident District Commissioner, Josephine Omara Olili, who visited the scene said the suspect reportedly picked up a quarrel with the brother (deceased) who had accused him of stealing his Matooke.
RDC Olili said the suspect is currently being detained at Kole Central Police Station pending appearance in court.
She cautioned local people from drinking alcohol in the morning saying it’s the cause of escalating violence in the area.
“I was falsely accused for stealing two bunches of banana from my brother’s garden. The banana was from my garden,” said Akak. Police picked the deceased body for postmortem.
