The Lira District Woman Member of Parliament, Linda Agnes Auma, has donated the sum of Shs10 million to five churches in Ogur Sub County.
While handing over the support on Sunday, September 15th 2024, MP Auma said the donation said this was part of pending petitions made sometimes back.
The churches that received the support include St. Mark Apoka, St. Augustine Te-Akang C.O.U., Yabwangi Catholic Chapel, St. Joseph Odokokome Chapel, and St. Martine Barkwac Chapel.
MP Auma, who reaffirmed her commitment to supporting various churches, used her community engagement to rally residents to participate in wealth creation activities using government programs including the Parish Development Model, PDG, and EMYOOGA, among others.
According to her, the government is committed to providing more funds for wealth creation programs to spur household income.
MP Auma urged Christians to remain law-abiding and close to church to live productive lifestyles.
Walter Agnes Oloa, a catechist at Odokokome chapel, thanked MP Auma for fulfilling her pledges to churches. He rallied other political leaders in the area to emulate what MP has done and support them.
On Saturday, September 14th, 2024, MP Auma delivered several aluminium saucepans to her voters in Lira district. This was part of her wider initiative to conserve the environment.
