The Amolatar District Woman Member of Parliament, Dr. Agnes Atim Apea (PhD), has embarked on a local campaign to escalate environmental conservation through tree planting in schools.

The campaign that started in 2022 and saw over 20,000 seedlings of Eucalyptus (clone) trees distributed to various churches in Amolatar district is being conducted in partnership between MP Dr. Apea and the National Forestry Authority (NFA).

She applauded NFA for directly supplementing her initiative to protect environment in Amolatar district.

This season alone (2023), MP Dr. Apea said the seedlings are being given to all the secondary schools and Namasale Technical School.

According to her, this will directly enhance the local struggle by schools to conserve the environment within learning institutions.

“In the previous season, we prioritized churches, but this year, we are giving the seedlings to all secondary schools and one technical school in Amolatar. We appeal to local authorities to protect these trees,” said MP Dr. Apea.

Recently, MP Dr. Apea delivered several tones of improved seeds to her constituents in a bid to escalate poverty eradication.

A few days ago, some 4,000 residents of Amolatar district in Northern Uganda were screened and treated in a free medical camp organized by the district Woman Member of Parliament, Dr. Agnes Atim Apea.

The camp, which was held at Aguludia Primary School in Namasale Sub-county days ago, offered services such as tests, dentistry, gynaecology, paediatrics, general medicine, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, and pharmacy.

About 40 extreme cases of cervical cancer, advanced cancer, diabetes, and hypotension were referred to Amai Community Hospital for further medical attention.
