Museveni Obtains Credible Information Confirming Speaker Among’s House Ownership in UK, Orders Her to Clarify

Date:

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has revealed that he has obtained information confirming that Speaker of Parliament, Anita Annet Among indeed owns a house in London contrary to what she had told him.

Museveni’s letter to Among

“I have got information that is contrary to what you told me—that you indeed own a house in London in the form of flat 4, Silk House, 7 Waterden Road, London E20, 3AL, United Kingdom,” said Museveni in a letter dated May 23rd, 2024, to Speaker Among.

Do you own this house, or are you renting it? Asked President Museveni.

“By copy of this letter, I direct the Minister of Foreign Affairs to contact the UK government and get details regarding this house. The IGG is also notified,” the president said in his letter.

A reliable source in the State House has confirmed the authenticity of a letter by President Museveni.

Among’s troubles stemmed from the recent sanction by the UK government accusing her of corruption emanating from the mismanagement of iron sheets meant for the rehabilitation of Karamoja youths.

Speaker, together with two other ministers, including Marry Gitutu and Agnes Nandutu were recently sanctioned by the UK government.
