NRM Pulls Final Tricks to Secure Victory as UPC, FDC Lead

Date:

Tension is building up in Dokolo district as they head to the polls on Wednesday, March 21st, to elect the female parliamentary representative.

Whereas both UPC candidate Sarah Nyangkori and FDC’s Dr. Rosemary Alwoc prominently remained in the lead after painting the district blue and red and daringly overshadowed other contestants, NRM party campaign strategists have activated the last-minute political mobilization tricks in an attempt to recapture victory.

By Sunday, March 17th, NRM had successfully neutralized the only contestant Dr. Grace Lalam (an independent NRM leaning), whose candidature had largely frustrated and eaten into the support of Janet Adong Elau (NRM)

Dr. Lalam has since declared her resignation from the race and further urged her supporters to now rally behind NRM’s Adong Elau.

A source said her stepping down stemmed from a lengthy discussion she held with the president and top NRM machinery, and she has since been promised heaven on earth should the NRM candidate win this by-election in addition to a huge financial compensation which has already been given.

It has also been confirmed that the battle has largely remained between the UPC Nyangkori and FDC Dr. Alwoc, despite the NRM’s latest attempts to secure victory in Dokolo.

According to an insider, the NRM team has declared a do-or-die game to ensure that they secure a win under whatever circumstances so as to justify huge funds spent in Dokolo.

The move aims at disapproving UPC’s MP Jimmy Akena, who has since camped in Dokolo with the intention of securing another victory like he did in the Oyam North by-election.

With Dr. Lalam stepping down from the race, this now offers a huge chance to NRM Adong.

President Museveni is due to camp in Dokolo to drum up support for NRM candidate Adong Elau and also announce a huge reward for Dr. Lalam and Kia Molly on Tuesday, March 19th.

Those in the race are Adongo Janet Rose Elau Okello (NRM), Ageno Harriet (NUP), Aguti Sarah (UPC), Akullo Esther-Obot (Independent), Alwoc Austin Ogwal Rosemary (FDC), and Arao Rebecca (Independent).
