Over 300,000 Pentecostal Christians in Lango Protest Illegal Property Seizure by PAG Limited, Ask Museveni to Block

Date:

More than 300,000 Pentecostal flocks in Lango sub region are protesting property seizure by the police in conjunction with the officials from PAG Limited in Kampala.

The affected Christians believe the ongoing operation is being maliciously conducted by police personnel under the directives of PAG Limited officials headed by General Overseer Simon Peter Emyau.

“We appeal to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to rescue us; otherwise, the Christians have vowed to protect their land and churches to the last drop of their blood. Why are some government officials silent when your voters are being persecuted by the Director of Operations of the Uganda Police Force, who is just interested in the money paid to him by PAG Ltd?” the group emphasized.

The Christians who have sworn to battle until the last drop of their blood have petitioned President Yoweri Museveni to intervene in the matter before it can escalate.

“It’s sad that police are being used by a company called PAG Ltd. to evict thousands of Christians from their hard-earned properties like churches and land, among others, yet some of these churches are hosted on individual land that was never sold to anybody; some were gifted, not purchased, and those lands purchased have agreements in their church names,” said Bosco Odongo, one of the affected Christians.

Odongo said PAG Ltd. has never contributed any money towards the acquisition of the lands and churches, has never been in possession of the lands and churches in Lango that they are claiming, and does not own any land in Lira City, Lira District, Dokolo, Alebtong, Otuke, or Amolatar districts.

Some of the demolished and destroyed property

“I wonder why the government would ignore its people at this time when Christians need them most and choose to either keep quiet on their plight or side with PAG Ltd. through its corrupt officers to evict over 300,000 Christians from their genuinely owned churches just because some individuals manipulated the court process to get a warrant of seizure of immovable properties,” reads part of their submission.

Another source revealed that a number of police officers have been drawn from Busia, Tororo, and Gulu, among others, with huge facilitation by PAG Ltd. through the Director of Operation of the Uganda Police Force to come and evict Christians in Lango from churches.

“The police do not care to ask whether the places they are taken to evict Christians actually belong to PAG Ltd, as they would tell people or be evicted that they are already paid to do the wishes of their bosses in Kampala and PAG Ltd, more so, a company incorporated in 1999 and trademarked in 2015 under the directorship of Francis Gimara, an advocate who has never even been a member of PAG throughout his life but was only involved to help fight hard to grab the properties in Lango so that such properties be sold and he shares in the proceeds,” the angered Christians noted.

The group opted to break away from PAG Uganda following a disagreement some years ago and opted to continue worshiping God under their umbrella in the Lango Sub region.
