Police in Mpigi district have arrested a Pakistani citizen for allegedly murdering his wife after a negative DNA result for their child.
The suspect has been identified as Raed Wated, 50, a resident of Kayabwe town council in Mpigi District.
It’s alleged that the couple conducted the DNA test to ascertain the paternity of the child, but the result turned negative, authenticating that the child did not belong to him.
The deceased, identified as Nabukenya, was reportedly murdered and dumped into a septic tank at their residential home by the jilted husband.
Recently, police cautioned parents against conducting DNA testing because it could escalate into fierce domestic violence.
