The top leadership of the government-owned Vision Group Media Empire has pledged massive support for the enthronement of the newly elected Lango Paramount Chief, His Highness Eng. Dr. Michael Moses Odongo Okune.
Don Wanyama made the assurance while meeting with a team from the Lango Cultural Chiefdom led by the Government Chief Whip, Hon. Denis Hamson Obua, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024.
The team is in a familiarization tour to drum up support and massive mobilization in preparation for the November 2nd cultural ceremony in which HH Dr. Okune will be enthroned.
“Great pleasure today hosting the recently-elected Lango Paramount Chief, HH Eng. Michael Odongo Okune, accompanied by GCW Denis Hamson Obua and other chiefdom officials. I spoke at length on how Vision Group can relate to the chiefdom and pledged to support his enthronement happening November 2nd in Lira City,” said New Vision Chief Executive Officer, Wanyama.
Other officials currently engaged in the familiarization tour include the Chairperson of the Lango Parliamentary Group, MP Judith Alyek, who is in charge of protocol, MP Maxwell Akora, who is also the Vice Chairperson of the national organizing committee, and MP Dr. Agnes Apea, a member of the finance and budget committee of the enthronement committee.
President Yoweri Kaguta is expected to attend the ceremony.
